Welcome to the Virtual Brain Tumor Board Discussion Forum
Virtual Brain Tumor Board (VBTB) has evolved from a live Webcast series where a multi-disciplinary panel of experts gathered to review difficult and unusual neuro-oncology cases to a comprehensive online neuro-oncology resource for physicians and their patients.

It is excellent that there is a dedicated VBTB site . I watched as much as I could on OR-Live and highly anticipate the upcoming marathon AVM webcast. I'm in between undergrad and graduate school. This fall I will begin pursuing my PhD in Neurosciences (specifically functional recover after brain injury) and anticipate being able to use your webcasts to help think up potential projects as I am most interested in brain tumors.
Once finished with my PhD I'll enter medical school and eventually move on to a neurosurgery residency - hopefully before I reach the age at which I can draw Social Security. I anticipate a career focused specifically on the brain and likely on tumors, AVMs, and stroke recovery efforts.
On this long and winding road, the VBTB has kept me inspired and thinking as I can't wait to get to clinical practice. To me the various maladies that affect the brain are the least fair (relative to other afflictions of other systems). Neurosciences are so young compared to the studies of other systems that the need for new knowledge is both inspiring and viciously humbling.
As such, I also look forward to a career steeped in advancing our knowledge base from the lab for better clinical modalities and outcomes .
I can only hope that the fine Methodist program continues to produce the VBTB webcasts. Keep up the good work!
